Stereolithography is the first technology developed in rapid prototyping, which has been broadly applied in manufacturing, materials science, engineering, medicine, arts, culture and other fields. In this paper, the data exchange format, spot compensation which affects the accuracy of traditional stereo lithography apparatus were discussed. And the research and development of polyjet technology, Mask Projection Stereolithography, and the photosensitive resin were described, and the latest CLIP technology was introduced. The trend of future development and application of the stereolithography technology was envisioned.
