Chemical Synthetic Pharmaceutical Wastewater Treatment by Microwave-assisted Fenton-like Technology

    • Several superior advantages could be seen from the optimization experiments, including low amount of catalyst and hydrogen peroxide ( cupric nitrate 0. 8 g/L and hydrogen peroxide 15 mL/L) , no acidification, short reaction time (6 min), well decomposition of pollutants (TOC removal 62. 64%), favorable improvement of biodegradation ( from 0. 25 to 0. 37 ) , and low concentration of Cu2+ ion after treatment (0. 625 5 mg/L) . Under the same condition, the effect of copper catalyst was more satisfactory than that of iron catalyst, TOC removal was elevated from 51. 40% to 62. 64%.
