Abstract
Because of the complicacy of working profile of a globoidal cam,there is not a fast measurement method with high accuracy. A method of measuring the characteristic line on the equidistant model of the globoidal cam based on the three-coordinate measuring machine(CMM) and the turntable system is proposed. The measuring theory of the equidistant model without radius compensation is first analyzed. The line profile error of equidistant model is then calculated and the influence on cam gearbox and automatic tool changer(ATC) is discussed. Test results show that cam measurements method is feasible,providing a foundation for integration of globoidal cam's design,manufacture and measure.
