Basic Principles of the Translation of English Poems Into Chinese

Based on analysis of typical theories of poetry translation and case study,this cssay states the view that,in translating an English poem into Chinese,efforts should be made to give full play to superiority of the Chinese language.In other words,we should-create in course of translation on the basis of "faithfulness" and try to achieve "expressiveness" and "elegance".We should use the best Chinese expressions but not necessarily equivalent structure of Chinese version.
