Use of Internet Social Media and Cultural Cultivation of College Students

    • Our country will thrive only if our culture thrives, and our nation will be strong only if our culture is strong. Cultural confidence concerns the lifeline of the Communist Party of China, the future of the country, the destiny of the nation and the well-being of the people. Besides, cultural confidence is conviction and sublimation of the confidence in the path, the theory and the system. Cultural confidence is its inherent request and inevitable result. First, it discusses that new features and the rapid development of the social media networks have provided a wider platform for fostering cultural confidence. Secondly, it expounds the challenges that culture confidence fosters in the era of online social media, which includes the difficulty of authenticity of information, misleading subjectivity and the one-sidedness of fragments. It points out the imminence of cultivating the cultural confidence of contemporary college students. Finally, it points out the necessity of making full use of online social media to cultivate college students' cultural confidence. And it is necessary to standardize and ease network sub-culture in real life, to enhance the media literacy of college students and to open up new forms of network learning. With cultural confidence, students can strengthen their "matter of confidence".
