Broadbanding salary is a new kind of salary design which is fit for the modern firms' flat organization structure and the management mode based on performance. It will break the traditional post hierarchy which has now been reoccurred and even intensified somewhere and turn to emphasize personnel's competency and performance. But the difficulty of measuring performance, the higher cost of management and the weakening of promotion stimulation make broadbanding salary not to be a catholicon. It suggests that the firms which implement broadbanding salary should know clearly their strategic stress, bring the mode of broadbanding salary step by step, and devise and lay a scientific plan.
