Abstract
With the monopolistic competition theory as the starting point, and combining some new characteristics of competition in a global era, the article explores the value of technical standards in helping enterprises to seek for (temporary) monopoly status in fierce market competition. Further more, the author extends the traditional monopolistic competition theory to international competition field, and concludes that the essence of standard strategy is that the state and enterprises join together to seek for monopoly status through technical standard in international competition.
