The Exhibition of the Aesthetic Outlook of the Peoms of Praising Knight by the Literati in Liang Times

The knight literature existed quite early in the history,of Chinese literature, showing diverse artistic features as time went by.The poems praising knights during the war period of South-North Dynasty writtern by literati of kingdom of Liang,a small state in Southern China,reflect not only the particular features of time and the influence of the literature of the preceding generation,but also the particular psychology and literary style of the literat at that time.This paper attemps,through the aesthetic view of these poems on such themes as heroic spirit,particular description of seasons and scenery,knight's wearings and ornaments and the manner towards friendship,to find out the in-depth cultural origin of these poems as well as the reason why this unique poetical aesthetic outlook came into being.
