    Taking People as This Thought of Mencius and the Comparison with the Contemporary Democratic Idea

    • Mencius's taking people as this thought, which is the core of his benevolent government theory thought, has laid stress on common aspiration of the people effect in politics practice. Although the people being this thought and democratic thought emphasize the significance of the people, they have essential differences. Taking people as this thought of Mencius is monarch standard. He thinks that only taking people as this, can the feudalism monarch protect the ruling over the country, which is different from the thoughts of contemporary democracy which proposes that everybody's right should be equal in status, and sovereignty should lie in people and so on.
