Applying Lexical Cohesion in Discourse Analysis to Vocabulary Teaching and Learning

In recent years,increased attention has been given to the need to place lexis more centrally within college English teaching.It makes little sense to learn words out of context.This paper first introduces the definition of text and lexis,with an emphasis on classification of lexical cohesion based on Hilliday and Hasan's theory.In analyzing the devices of lexical cohesion in each text,the lexical cohesion approach indeed offers a new perspective to FLT.
