    • Based on the recent speaking highly of the political and ideological work by Commrade Jiang Ze-min, this paper elaborates the position and function of political and ideological work in higher educational institutions under the current situations. By the analysis of the developing history of capitalism and Socialism, it also discusses the vital theoretical and practical problems influencing the teacher's and sfudents' ideological activities of higher educational institutions, and meanwhile proposes the main measures to improve and strengthen the political and ideological work of higher educational institutions.
