Research on Logistics Cooperation Mode between the Two Sides of the Taiwan Strait

    • Logistics demand is derived from trade between regions.Continuously increasing trade amount offers large potential demand for logistics cooperation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait.Structurally speaking, the trade centers around intra-industry products, most of which are suitable for container transportation.Spacially speaking, the trade concentrates in the Yangtze River Delta Region, the Pearl River Delta Region and the west bank of the Taiwan Strait, which leaves huge room for expansion in the hinterland. According to the above characteristics of logistics demand between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, the paper puts forward three logistics cooperation modes:developing multi-modal transportation to.extend logistics to the hinterland;constructing hub-and-spoke network to integrate port resources;and establishing strategy alliance to strengthen cooperation between corporations.
