Subao Case From the Perspective of "ISAs Theory"

    • In Subao case,Zhang Taiyan and Zou Rong were sentenced to 3 and 2 years' imprisonment respectively.Such result reflects the weakness of the national comprehensive control capability of the late Qing Dynasty. The reasons for this are manifold. On the one hand, due to the particularity of the modern concession and the low operational efficiency of the administrative system,it is difficult for the state mandatory machine of the Qing government to play the role of "violence authority" in Subao case.On the other hand, the ideological state apparatus are relatively independent and diverse. This makes the Qing government and the revolutionaries seem to compete with each other in the ideological field such as newspaper and court argue, which,to some extent, also affects the final outcome of penalty.
