Abstract
In his works William Faulkner demonstrates a variety of sins,which has become an important creative characteristic of his works,and which is misunderstood frequently.In this paper the author regards the writer's demonstration of sins as an important part of his modern tragic narrative in the combination of tragic theory and methods of narratology.He not only places it in the long literary tradition,but also gives it a vivid modernity.In the text structure of several of his works the sins are given a variety of artistic functions and complicated significances,and lay the foundation by assisting the writer to complete the creation of modern tragedy.
