Abstract
With the continuous promotion of digital transformation strategy, the effectiveness of enterprise digital transformation in driving green innovation is a highly debated topic. This paper takes the enterprise panel data at micro level from 2007 to 2022 as empirical sample to empirically test the spillover effect and specific influencing mechanism of enterprise digitization on substantive green innovation and strategic green innovation, and the study shows that: (1) Digital transformation can drive collaborative transformation of green enterprises and an increase in green innovation activities, and the conclusion is able to pass a series of robustness test; (2) The mechanism analysis concludes that information disclosure, resource allocation and technology integration play an intermediary role, and corporate digital transformation provides strong support for green innovation by improving the transparency of information disclosure, optimizing resource allocation, and enhancing the ability of technological integration; (3) By analyzing the heterogeneity of ownership and industry, the digital transformation of enterprises in state-owned companies, domestic enterprises, high-tech enterprises and non-heavy polluting industries has a more significant role in promoting green innovation. Finally, this paper puts forward three policy suggestions, including responding to the digital transformation strategy, unblocking the digital development channel, and building the ecology of digital intelligence and green innovation.
