Abstract
Against the backdrop of China's increasing scale of outward direct investment and the continued pressure on domestic employment, this study explores the impact of outward direct investment on high-quality and full employment. By selecting the balanced panel data of 30 provincial administrative regions in China from 2005 to 2017, this paper uses the double fixed effect and spatial spillover effect model to study the impact of foreign direct investment on high-quality full employment. Research has found that: firstly, OFDI has a significant effect on promoting high-quality and full employment in China; secondly, OFDI has a more significant effect on promoting high-quality and full employment in provincial administrative regions along the "the Belt and Road"; thirdly, OFDI has a positive spatial spillover effect on China's high-quality full employment, and a positive spatial spillover effect on the share of labor income of provincial administrative regions along the "the Belt and Road". Finally, based on the research findings, the research insights are proposed from three aspects: sustained expansion of opening-up, promotion of full flow of factors, and improvement of the driving mechanism of economic development for employment.
