Multilateral Pathways of Telling China's Stories in the New Era: Analysis of Cooperation Between Think Tanks and International Organizations on Knowledge Sharing

Telling China's stories is momentous to publicize China's great achievements and historic feats of the New Era. It contributes to enhance international community's understanding of China and brings China's wisdom and solutions to global development and global governance. Knowledge sharing is an important part and way for think tanks to tell China's stories, which also contributes to the internationalization of think tanks. This paper studies the implication, advantages and shortcomings of think tanks in cooperation with international organizations to share China's stories. It analyzes knowledge management strategies of international organizations such as the United Nations, and the feasibility of telling China's stories via multilateral platforms. In the New Era, to expand channels for international communications, think tanks may need to further cooperate with international organizations, which will add to the synergy between telling China's stories and international development cooperation. It is crucial to improve the capacity and quality of knowledge sharing of think tanks, and pursue high-quality story telling. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as the overall programmatic document, provides directions for telling China's stories in the New Era. Telling China's stories also enters a new era and meets historical opportunities. In the New Era, telling China's stories may need to particularly focus on sharing China's experiences and solutions regarding her historic feats in the New Era, global agenda, as well as China's world outlook and new ideas on governance.
