Course, Experience and Future Focus of Centennial Rural Governance by the Communist Party of China

    • Since the founding of the Communist Party of China 100 years ago, rural governance has basically gone through four historical periods: the revolutionary period of "political power going to the countryside", the construction period of "integration of government and community", the reform period of "township government and village self-governance" and the promotion period of rural governance modernization. Under the leadership of the party, rural governance has made remarkable achievements, manifested in the optimization of the main structure of rural governance, the gradual improvement of rural governance laws and regulations, and the continuous innovation of rural governance practices. Looking back at history, the reason why China's rural governance has made remarkable achievements lies in: in terms of governance objectives, it has always focused on rural stability and development; in terms of governance philosophy, it has firmly anchored the fundamental interests of farmers; in terms of governance subject, it has always adhered to the core position of the party's leadership; in terms of governance model, it has consciously kept pace with the times and constantly improved. In the new historical period, the party should closely focus on the rural governance system and governance ability modernization goal, emphasizing the enhancement of the construction of rural grass-roots party organization, building the rural governance system of "three governance integrations", as well as creating a multi-subject rural governance pattern of co-construction, co-governance and co-sharing, so as to do better on the path of governing the rural areas.
