Analysis of China's Social work from Embedded Development to Integrated Development

    • Since the restoration and reconstruction of professional social work in China, it took an "embedded development" path at start. The concept of "embedded development" is generated from the perspective of professional social work as the subject. In the next stage, social work in China showed the characteristics of "coordinated development". "Coordinated development" focuses on the synergistic relationship between professional social work and administrative social work (local social work) from a dual subjective perspective. China's social work is and will move towards "integrated development." Balanced "integrated development" is based on equality, mutual recognition, and complementary advantages. Unbalanced "integrated development" however refers to a phenomenon that professional social work is gradually integrated with or entering into administrative social work though in time lag. Balanced "integrated development" is a social work development model that meets China's own conditions and the requirements of social governance modernization.
