    Research on the Integration and Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Current Situation, Problems and Countermeasures

    • The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area is the national strategy General Secretary Xi Jinping personally planned and deployed, with its aims to promote in-depth cooperation between Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, build a world-class urban agglomeration in the Bay Area, and play a better leading role in the national economy towards high-quality development and all-round opening up. Focusing on those aims, this paper analyses the existing problems and obstacles in the regional coordinated development of the three regions, and then proposes several measures:strengthening the interconnection of infrastructure to build a 1-hour fast traffic circle in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area; promoting the construction of world-class international shipping logistics center to construct the system of industrial coordinated development of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao; jointly building the pilot zone of industrial transformation and upgrading to further the level of market integration; constructing the innovation corridor and innovation center of international science and technology industry to perfect the chain of science and technology innovation around key industries; building the demonstration zone of talent cooperation; creating the "one belt and one road" transportation hub; building a cultural and economic exchange platform with "one belt and one road"; making full use of the comparative advantages of the three regions to innovate the cooperation modes, and forming a mutually beneficial and complementary cooperative development mechanism to promote the integration and innovation of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
