摘要: 日本由政府部门、产业界和学术界三方面组成的第五代计算机开发机构ICOT(INSTIT UTE FOR NEW GENERATION COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY),规定参加工作的人员(除组织者外)必须在35岁以下,集中力量分三个阶段用十年时间研制出第五代计算机。

Abstract: This article introduces the fifth generation computer system which is being developed in Japan.
The functions of the fifth generation computer system may be roughly classied as follows:
·Probpem-solving and inference
·Knowledge-base management
·Intelligent interface
