    Distributed Rendering Method of Virtual Avatar in Mobile Virtual Reality

    • 摘要: 为了实现手持设备三维虚拟化身的实时渲染,引用动画替代物技术进行了化身的绘制.利用电脑端/手持端的分布式架构减小了手持端纹理内存的占用,通过采用动作层次细节模型和一种简单的纹理压缩算法降低了对无线网络传输带宽的要求.试验结果证明,这种渲染方法能很好地满足手持设备上渲染虚拟化身的实时性要求.

       

      Abstract: In order to realize the real-time rendering of 3D virtual avatar (VA)on handsets,the technology of dynamic impostor is used to draw the VA.Furthermore,the distributed architecture based on PC/Handset is applied to reduce the occupancy of memory in handsets and the method of levels of action (LOA)and simple texture compression are adopted to save the required wireless network bandwidth.The experiments show that the method can satisfy adequately the requirement of real-time VA rendering on handsets.
