    The Colour Metallographic Examination Applied to Testing M2 High Speed Steel

    • 摘要: M2高速钢中碳化物的种类和形态繁多.利用彩色金相方法可以清晰而方便地区分出共晶碳化物的类型,可以研究M2C型碳化物高温分解的过程,也可以检查富硼相的存在.

       

      Abstract: M2 high speed steel has many sorts and shapes of eutectic carbides which are due to the variation in the conditions of solidification, alloying or heat treatment. This paper shows that colour metallographic tests can conveniently be used to clearly identify the kinds of the eutectic carbides in M2 high speed steel, and to study the reaction of decomposition of M2C carbide at elevated temperatures, and also to distinguish the phase containing rich B from other phases.
