    A Phase-Shifiting Stimulation Strategy for Evoked Potential Signal Enhancement

    • 摘要: 针对最常见的一类具有持续振荡特征的自发脑电(EEG)信号情况,提出首先对其准周期特征参数统计测定,然后进行10次左右的错相刺激触发和叠加,使EEG信号的效应大部分互相对消,同时视觉诱发脑电(VEP)信号明显增强,为后续系列文章中对叠加所得波形的处理打下较好基础.还给出了制定错相刺激触发策略所需的具体判据和应用示例.

       

      Abstract: A precise extraction of the Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) signal from the Electroencephalogram(EEG) background noise is important to detect human nervous system's disease. Due to the extremely low signal-noise-ratio, however, such kind of signal extraction is by no means an easy tasks. Based on the EEG signal's inherent quasi-periodic feature analysis and statistical evaluation of the related parameters, this paper proposes a speciacl phase-shifting stimulation strategy to significantly enhance the signal-noise-ratios of the superimposed result, which may thus be used as a much better source signal for further processing. Incorporating with other new techniques for extracting the VEP signal to be addressed in the remaining papers by the authors, about ten times of stimulation is enough to obtain a satisfactory result. Some criteria and application examples of the proposed strategy are given in detail.
