Abstract: A new method of determining possible ferroelectric phases is brieflydescribed in this paper. Using this method, we can easily obtain thedirections of all possible spontaneous polarizations from a certain initial(paraelectric) phase. A thorough comparison of this method with thatof Shuvalov and Aizu's shows complete agreement in results.
