Abstract:
The solubilizing power of 1, 2-dichloroethane (DCE) in micellar system formed by three cationic surfactants, cetyltrimethyl ammonium chloride(CTAC)、cetyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB), myristyl pyridinium bromide(MPB), was discussed in order to eliminate organic pollutions in industrial wastewater using micelle-enhanced ultrafiltration(MEUF) technique. Headspace gas chromatograph was applied to measure the maximal solubilizing amount (
ρmax) of DCE and thereby calculate its mole fraction in micelle (
xm) and water (
xb), its maximal additive concentration (
MAC). its distributing coefficient (
P) and solubilization coefficient (
K). The results showed that solublilizing activity of DCE in the three cationic surfactants was CTAC > CTAB > MPB.
