Abstract:
A 1/7 scale composite core wall specimen designed from a pratical engineering was tested under low-frequency cyclic loading. The hysteretic characteristics,load-carrying capacity, ductility, stiffness and its degradation process, failure pattern of the specimen were analyzed based on the test. The related anti-seismic constructional measures were given after the weakness part of the specimen was analyzed. The results show that the load-carrying capacity and the ductility of the core walls could be improved greatly by combining the STRC columns as the borders and concealed steel trusses in the walls.
