Abstract: Based on ISODATA, FUZZY ISODATA and some of their improved algorithms, this paper puts forward a new clustering algorithm TFI(TO-TAL FUZZY ISODATA). It uses fuzzy method in adjusting both cluster centers and the number of classes with satisfactory clustering results. TFI can automatically determine the initial classing state and provide us with the information about the optimal number of classes. It has been implemented on DJS-6 with ALGOL.
