Abstract: It can be seen from experimental results that the dynamic responses of a mechanism with clearance connections are chaotic. The chaotic state is influenced by the input speed and the clearance size of the mechanism. Although the dynamic responses of a mechanism with clearances are nonperiodic and the initial condition is sensitive, typical response patterns do exist. The experimental results can also be used to verify the accuracy of the numerical calculations.
