Abstract:
To improve the real-time monitoring capability and safety operation of electric bus lithium battery, and save the battery maintenance cost, this paper presents a lithium battery remote monitoring system for electric buses, which consist of vehicle information collector and host computer. The vehicle information collector is composed of a microprocessor, controller area network (CAN) bus controller, global positioning system (GPS) module, and general packet radio service (GPRS) module. The collector is connected to electronic control units (ECU) via CAN bus, which can receive the lithium battery information and GPS data and transmit them to the host computer via GPRS network. The monitoring system is developed using C++ and Oracle database to complete the analysis of battery information of electric bus and the vehicle positioning, and guarantee the stability and the efficiency of data storage. This system has entered the testing stage, showing good stability, low cost and high reliability.
