Abstract:
A new circuit simulation program WRMT based on Waveform Relaxation (WR) method for the time-domain analysis of large scale MOS digital integrated circuits is presented, in which blockwise decomposition method is used and users are allowed to define subcircuits arbitrarily. The using of a special method for treating node variables of the subcircuits reduces the amount of subcircuit simulation computation remarkably. Both new waveform convergence algorithm and latency algorithm are introduced to accelerate the rate of waveform convergence.
Preliminary computations with WRMT have shown that it could work at least 5 times faster than SPICE2.
