Abstract:
Mixing aluminum oxide or ultrafine powder of cordierite, the raw material, with glass powder carbon powder and lubricant, a porous substrate would be sintered at a temperature of 1 250℃. The surface of the sintered substrate is smooth. Its strength is high; its perviousness is 1 000~3 000 mL/m
2; Its porosity is 30%~40%;its electron micrographs show that the pore sizes on the surface and on the section of the porous substrate are about(0.2~6)μm. The size of the pores and their distribution are even. Therefore, the sintered substrate is a good porous substrate for the preparation of inorganic composite glass membranes.
