    Review on Research and Development of Gd5(SixGe1-x)4 Magnetic Refrigerant Materials

    • 摘要: 为了促进室温磁致冷技术的实用化,本文系统全面地介绍了室温磁致冷材料Gd5(SixGe1-x)4系金属间化合物近年来的发展概况,阐明了巨磁热效应与晶体结构、相变类型的关系,着重介绍了优化合金磁热性能的各种途径,最后针对合金实用化存在的问题提出了解决方法,并对其应用前景进行了展望.

       

      Abstract: For the purpose of promoting the practicality of magnetic refrigeration technology in China, a systematic presentations of the Gd5(SixGe1-x)4 inter-metallic compounds was given, which possessed the best magneto-caloric effect among all magnetic refrigerant materials at room temperature. In this paper, the relationships between the magneto-caloric effect and the crystal structure as well as phase transition was clarified; furthermore, several effective ways to improve the magneto-caloric properties of the alloys in recent studies were recommended. Some problems and solutions for the applications of the alloys in the near future were also discussed.
