Abstract: A design based on XMPP and FCAPS model was provided to meet the rapidly growing and changing mobile IM needs.The protocol extensions based on the standard XMPP had been used to support multimedia information sharing.The design added network and systems management to manage mobile IM services.An experimental system was developed to verify the design.It was demonstrated by experiment that the system could build stable and efficient mobile IM services with important management and essential search functions.The system processes a message rapidly and the error rate is very low.
