Abstract: Rebuilding of old city district and development of transportation, which are relevant to many aspects, are the important parts of whole city construction. To rebuild the old city and roads is an important component of restoration of a historic and cultural famous city of Beijing, an old city with unique features and characters. Based on the analysis of the history of formation of Beijing, current situation, practical examples of rebuilding old city, suggestions about how to modify the old city and roads in Beijing are proposed.
