Abstract:
In order to research the feasibility of structural seismic retrofit with Hybrid FRP(HFRP),which has a good ductility, four reinforced concrete shear walls were tested to investigate the performances such as failure mode of shear walls, ductility, hysteretic curves, skeleton curves and energy consumption strengthened with HFRP in this paper. The effect of shear span ratio on the seismic performance of shear walls strengthened with HFRP were studied herein. The results show that the stiffness would degrade slowely if shear walls are strengthened with HFRP.This effect is more obvious to low-rise shear wall than that to mid-rise shear wall.Strengthening the shear walls with the new-style HFRP herein would have a great effect on improving the ductility and capacity of energy consumption, and it's more effective to mid-rise shear wall than low-rise one.Concrete Shear walls strengthened with HFRP would have good ductility and capacity of energy consumption, the hysteretic curves are fat and the pinching behavior becomes light.
