Abstract:
Some thermal problems in microwave ablation therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma were analyzed and discussed. The specific absorption rate (SAR) measurement in liver tissue, numerical simulation on temperature field, size and shape of the ablation area in a single microwave antenna, combination method of the ablation area in multi-antennas for alternative heating pattern were discussed. The coagulation area between the simulations and actual measured results showed good correspondence. Method of combined coagulation area for alternative heating pattern can achieve adaptive therapy for the cancer.
