Abstract: According to the basic characters of adaptive design and variant design, combined with rapid-designing system of some developed products, the discussion is made on the strategy of system developing, expressing method of design knowledge, reasoning model and technology of product modeling, etc. A strategy to realize rapid product design of model-based-reasoning which comprehensively uses the manifold technical means offered by rule-based-reasoning and modem CAD is presented.
