Abstract:
To explore the origami structure with better energy absorption characteristics, this paper proposed a tower origami structure with pressure-torsion coupling characteristics by improving the design of the traditional Origami Twisted Tower structure. A quasi-static compression experiment was performed on this structure using numerical simulation analysis methods. Results show that the tower origami structure has the energy absorption characteristics of low peak compression force, long platform, and small disturbance. By changing the ratio of inner circle radius to outer circle radius, torsion angle, ratio of outer circle radius to height, and geometric parameters of thickness, the influence law of geometric parameters on energy absorption, peak compressive force, compressive force efficiency and other energy absorption performance can be obtained. The research results have some reference value for the optimal design of origami structures and the study of structural energy absorption characteristics.
