Abstract:
The developed biocemented soil research in Chongqing University was introduced in this paper. The reaction process and mechanisms of microbially induced calcium carbonate precipitation (MICP) was investigated from microscopic scale based on microfluidics. The MICP with micro-particle and temperature-controlled method were adopted to improve the effect of biocementation. Restraint of particle breakage by biocementation, fiber-reinforced biocemented soil, static and dynamic performance of calcareous sands were studied form unit scale. Furthermore, precast concrete piles model test through biogrouting improvement and field foundation stabilization tests were carried out to evaluate the practical effects from macro and in-situ scales. The research at Chongqing University provides a reference for further application and promotion of biocementation geotechnical technology.
