Abstract:
The developed high-strength rare earth-magnesium alloys in Beijing University of Technology was introduced in this paper. By adding Erbium (Er) and Gadolinium (Gd) elements, heat-resistant Mg-Zn-Er alloys and high-strength Mg-Gd-Er(-Zn)-Zr alloys were developed. The formation range of phases I and W in the Mg-Zn-Er alloy and their effects on the creep resistance of the alloy were obtained, and the mechanical properties of Mg-Gd-Er(-Zn)-Zr alloy were enhanced by composition optimization and composite processing, which provide a reference basis for the design and fabrication of high-performance magnesium alloy materials.
