Abstract:
A high-speed railway station with large space serves a big flow of people. If there is no clear guidance, it is easy to get lost, leading to the interruption of the passenger's route. To solve these problems, this paper relied on Beijing South Railway Station to study guiding signs settings in the entrance space of high-speed railway stations. First, the universality and characteristics of interruption were summarized by tracking observation. Second, the underlying causes of interruption by interview method were analyzed. Finally, based on the result of the problem analysis, the strategies were put forward for location and information setting of the guiding signs. Results show that the interruption of flow is widespread and concentrated mainly in waiting area and ticket area. The guiding signs is an important cause of interruption. The problems focus on the location and information settings of the guiding signs. The research results can be used as the theoretical basis for the guiding signs settings in the entrance space of the high-speed railway station.
