Abstract:
To improve the comprehensive operation level of non-signalized intersection and reduce the occurrence of traffic accident and to solve the problem of facilities of traffic safety at non-signalized intersection in national and provincial main roads, a comprehensive effectiveness evaluation method was proposed for the combination alternative of traffic safety facilities at non-signalized intersection. An effective evaluation for the combination of traffic safety facilities at level crossing was conducted based on microscopic driving behavioral data through driving simulation technology. Taking intersections in Anle Road, 101 National Road as an example, the simulated driving experimental scenarios under four sets of alternatives with different facilities combination were constructed. Nine evaluation indicators were selected from three levels of the driving behavior data of the experiment. Technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution (TOPSIS) evaluation method was adopted to quantify the single-objective evaluation of combination alternatives from the three aspects of intersection safety, predictability and comfortability. Finally, a grey situation decision-making method was selected to comprehensively conduct a multi-objective evaluation on the non-signalized intersection. The research findings show that this evaluation method is relatively practical to solving the problem of the installation and the combination of facilities at non-signalized intersection. It can also perform a comprehensive evaluation on combination alternative of traffic safety facilities at non-signalized intersection, which lays the foundation for the further improvement of guidelines on traffic safety facilities installation and combination at main road intersections.
