Abstract:
To alleviate the traffic congestion and safety problems of highway crosses town, the driver's eye movement characteristics and the road property were studied. Highway that crosses town was divided into three sections:highway section, adaptation section and town section. The driver's eye movement data were obtained through field. The difference of the driver's visual characteristics were analyzed, from both saccade and fixation perspective. The gaze areas were divided by Squared up way, then the classification of fixation points were analyzed. The fixation time thresholds of drivers in different mental states were determined by statistical analysis of fixation time. The patterns of driver's eye movement were summarized, and a series of measures to ensure the safety of driving were put forward. Results show that there are obvious differences in the saccade situation of drivers on different types of roads. The focus areas are concentrated in 5, 6, 2, 4 regions. There are 3 types of fixation points, including 14 species. The driver's uninterested, interested, confused thresholds are 0 to 149 ms, 150 to 447 ms, and 447 ms above. According to the statistical data of fixation time, when the greater than 447 ms, drivers pay more attention to the scenery in the adaptation section.
