Abstract:
To control the variability of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) and ensure the properties of asphalt recycled mixture, the aggregate gradation, asphalt content and asphalt properties were tested by using different sources RAP from asphalt mixing station, and the law and diversity of the indexes were analyzed. Based on the quality requirements of ordinary hot asphalt mixture, a control model of the maximum RAP proportion of hot recycled asphalt mixture from central mixing plant was established. The distribution characteristics between asphalt-stone ration and particle size were analyzed. Finally a fluctuation range model of mixed asphalt penetration was established. The results show that the variability of aggregate gradation, asphalt-stone ratio and asphalt properties of RAP is large. The calculated maximum RAP proportion can effectively ensure the quality requirements of aggregate and asphalt-stone ratio of recycled asphalt mixture. The asphalt-stone ratio and particle size of RAP are exponentially distributed, and the asphalt-stone ration is larger when particle size is smaller. The penetration fluctuation range of mixed asphalt is closely related to the asphalt-stone ration and penetration of reclaimed asphalt, and the fluctuation range is larger when the RAP proportion is larger.
