3 and ZnO as raw materials. The microstructure and electric properties of the composite ceramic were analyzed by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, ferroelectric and dielectric tests. The results show that the incorporation of 20%(in mole percent) ZnO leads to the formation of the third phase Zn

4 compared with pure KBT phase, and improves the polarizability and ferroelectricity of KBT. Impedance analysis shows that there is only electronic conduction in the ferroelectric composite ceramics. Especially, the incorporation of ZnO suppressed the phase transition of the normal ferroelectric into relaxation ferroelectric, which is of importance for the research and application of KBT-based materials.
