Abstract:
Five shear wall test models with different design parameters and different construction measures were compared to study the seismic performance of composite shear walls with shaped steel concrete boundary columns and embedded steel plates. The shear span ratio of all the models was 1.5.The models were tested under low cyclic loading test. The bearing capacity, stiffness, ductility, hysteretic energy dissipation and failure characteristics of the models were comparatively analyzed. The results show that compared to the shear walls with shaped steel concrete boundary columns, the composite shear walls with shaped steel concrete boundary columns and embedded steel plates show better seismic performance,in that the load-bearing capacity, the ductility and the seismic energy dissipation capacity are improved greatly;the composite shear walls with proper thick embedded steel plate show better seismic performance;the composite shear wall modes which embedded steel plate and reinforced concrete are connected by steel bars show better seismic performance compared to the composite shear wall models which embedded steel plate and reinforced concrete are connected by stud welded to the steel plate. The bearing capacity calculation models of the composite shear walls with shaped steel concrete boundary columns and embedded steel plates were proposed in this paper and the load-bearing capacity of the shear walls calculated by the models aere in good agreement with the experimental results.
