Abstract: In his rural novels,Mao Dun highlights and sticks to the transformation as the essence of life in the modern society in China through such specific situations as universal consciousness of the "things having changed" in literature,the world order of "against a power",and survival experience of "anxious life" under the intrinsic idea of "Troubled Times Literary" tradition. The consciousness of the transformation contained in "Troubled Times" presents the modernistic experience in Mao Dun's soul,thereby the image and the original code of the rural China towards modernization.
