    Cultural and Poetic Analysis of "Courtyard and Balcony" Imagery in the Five Dynasties and Northern Song Dynasty's Ci

    • 摘要: 从文化诗学的观点来看,五代、北宋词中大量存在的“庭院楼台”意象,深刻反映了中国封建时代女性的一种典型状况:她们生活在狭小封闭的世界,与真正的大自然和纷繁的社会隔离;在以男性为抒情主人公的作品中,庭院楼台意象则反映了士大夫文人拟身女子、侍君如妾的地位和人格意识上“向内转”的特有的历史内涵;联系中国诗歌史,这种情形凸现得更为清楚。

       

      Abstract: From the point of view of the cultural and poetic analysis, there is a great deal of "Courtyard and Balcony" imagery in the Five Dynasties and Northern Song's poetic genre. First of all, it reflects a typical condition of the Chinese feudal women, who were confined in a narrow and blocked world, segregated from the real nature and the crowded and complicated society. In many poetic works with male persons as the emotional hero, the courtyard and balcony imagery reflects the intelligentsia and officialdom's status as female, waiting upon the monarch just like the concubines. And it also mirrors the unique historical connotation of their inward puisuit for maintaining the integrity of characters. Throughout the literary history, this situation is protruding.
