Abstract: As an important historical, social and system resource, nongovernmental intermediation to dispute plays a significant role in maintaining social order and stability. The paper tries to analyze the characters of nongovernmental intermediation, the operation rules of it, and the power system that supports the institution, in order to attain a deep understanding of the Chinese society.
